Water extraction is the first job after most indoor floods in Oak View, because the longer water stays put, the further it spreads into carpet pad, baseboards and the bottoms of walls. The extraction crew removes the bulk of it mechanically, which is far faster and more complete than any dehumidifier could manage.
How the water comes out
Submersible pumps handle deep water, then wet vacuums and a truck-mounted unit work across the floor to lift what is left. Because Oak View sits along the Ventura River in a narrow valley, water that enters from outside tends to pool in low rooms, so crews start at the lowest point and work outward.
What gets checked once it is out
Pulling the surface water does not mean the job is done. Carpet, pad, baseboards, cabinet bases and drywall hold moisture long after the floor looks clear, so meters and a thermal camera map every surface that stayed wet before anything is dried or removed, and the results decide where the air movers go.
